Quick answer: Blue Guardian Futures counts one mini as ten micros for its position limit. Convert every simultaneous open position into the same unit before adding another order. A funded Reserve or Express tier can differ from the evaluation allowance, so use the currently assigned tier rather than yesterday's maximum.

Verified code: CFP for 45% off Blue Guardian Futures account purchase fees. The Futures offer reduces the purchase fee, not the contract limit. Official facts checked 5 October 2026.

The rules behind the capacity calculation

The official contract guide defines a 1:10 mini-to-micro equivalence and applies limits to simultaneous open positions. Standard and Direct use fixed tiers. Reserve and Express funded accounts begin with reduced limits; changes are based on EOD closing balance and can reverse when balance falls below a trigger. Orders beyond the limit are rejected.

For example, the documented $50K Standard limit is four minis or forty micros, while $50K Reserve and Express begin funded at two minis or twenty micros. This article uses those limits to demonstrate an order-capacity worksheet, not to restate the complete scaling tables.

Convert everything to micro-equivalent units

Use the expression 10 × open minis + open micros. Compare the result with the account's micro-equivalent allowance. This conversion measures the firm's contract count; it is not a claim that every instrument has the same dollar volatility or stop-loss risk.

A forty-unit example

Assume a currently assigned allowance of forty micro-equivalent units. You hold two minis and fifteen micros. The total is 20 + 15 = 35, leaving five units.

Proposed additionTotal after additionPosition-count result
4 micros39Inside the assumed forty-unit allowance
5 micros40At the assumed allowance
6 micros41Exceeds the assumed allowance
1 mini45Exceeds the assumed allowance

The table isolates contract count. A trade can fit this count and still violate a loss limit or your own risk budget. Permission to hold forty units does not mean forty units are prudent.

Partial exits require a fresh count

Continue the example with two minis and fifteen micros. If five micros close, exposure becomes thirty units and ten remain. If instead one mini closes, exposure becomes twenty-five units and fifteen remain.

Record actual filled exits before treating that capacity as free. A submitted closing order is not the same as a completed closing execution. Similarly, an entry order that has partially filled creates exposure even when its full requested quantity has not completed.

A useful order worksheet includes the position before the instruction, filled quantity, remaining open quantity and capacity after the fill. It prevents counting the same exit twice when several orders update close together.

Multiple charts do not create separate allowances

A trader working across several charts can accidentally treat each panel as if it owns the whole account limit. Keep an account-wide view instead. The relevant check is simultaneous account exposure, not how many windows are open.

For example, one mini plus seven micros on one chart and eight micros elsewhere totals 10 + 7 + 8 = 25 units. The calculation does not establish dollar risk across those instruments; review each contract specification and the combined planned loss separately.

When using a copier, perform the count independently on every destination. An entry that fits the source account can exceed a destination's smaller funded tier. Software automation does not make the allowances identical.

Use the assigned funded tier at the start of the session

The Reserve account guide and Express payout guide describe the wider account paths. For order planning, the important step is recording the actual current limit before enabling entries.

An intraday profit spike is not proof that an EOD-based upgrade has already taken effect. Equally, do not assume a previously unlocked tier survives every balance reduction. Use the dashboard and the governing rule version to reconcile the next session's capacity.

Suggested two-limit checklist

  • Contract check: Does the proposed filled position fit the current account tier?
  • Loss check: Does the planned exposure fit remaining account loss room and your own risk budget?

Passing the first check cannot answer the second. This is a practical distinction between a position-count ceiling and a money-at-risk calculation.

Purchase savings without inventing a base price

With CFP at 45%, a supported regular account fee P produces 0.45 × P savings and a 0.55 × P discounted base fee. The official public pricing page did not expose reliable Futures purchase amounts in this review, so current dollar totals are not quoted. Optional services and separate reset or data charges are not automatically discounted.

See the Futures firm overview for the account families. For a separate explanation of loss thresholds, read the Standard daily-stop guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

The firm’s position-count guide uses one mini as ten micros.

That equals thirty-five micro-equivalent units, leaving five units under that assumed allowance. Other account restrictions still apply.

No. It is a contract-count convention; instrument value, volatility and stop distance must be assessed separately.

Use the actual filled position, not an assumption that an unfilled closing order has removed exposure.

No. CFP provides the account purchase discount. The selected model and funded tier determine position limits.
