Quick answer: Resetting a Stellar 2-Step Phase 2 account sends the trader back to Phase 1. The published standard $25K reset fee is $179.99. A new $25K account has a $199.99 regular base fee; if CFP applies its maximum 50% reduction, the calculated new-purchase fee is $100.00. Compare the actual quotes and account conditions before paying again.

Coupon summary: Verified code CFP offers up to 50% off CFD accounts. The percentage depends on the selected purchase. Full-50% figures below are conditional maximum-discount calculations, not a guaranteed rate for every plan. See the FundedNext CFD offer.

Official prices and rules checked: 7 October 2026. Fees are in USD. Optional platform, reward and other upgrades are separate; their discount eligibility is not assumed.

A Phase 2 reset restarts the evaluation path

The Stellar 2-Step account guide explains that Phase 1 resets restore the starting balance. A Phase 2 reset issues a new Phase 1 account, so both phases must be completed again. The challenge-reset option is unavailable after reaching the FundedNext Account stage.

The official 2-Step catalog requires an 8% first target, a separate 5% second target and five trading days per phase in the standard configuration. On $25K, those target amounts are $2,000 and $1,250 in their respective stages.

This makes the value of a reset different from a repair that preserves completed Phase 1 progress. Record the starting stage on the quoted order before treating the fee as a price for continuing where the account stopped.

Compare published fees on matching configurations

The reset amounts below come from the official reset-price table. Standard swap accounts are used. The new-purchase scenarios use regular fees from the official 2-Step and Lite catalogs.

PlanSizeRegular new feeCodeConditional new-purchase rateSavings if full rate appliesNew fee at maximumPublished reset fee
Stellar 2-Step$25K$199.99CFPFull 50%, if applicable$99.99$100.00$179.99
Stellar 2-Step$50K$299.99CFPFull 50%, if applicable$149.99$150.00$269.99
Stellar Lite$25K$139.99CFPFull 50%, if applicable$69.99$70.00$125.99

Final fees are rounded to cents; savings equal the regular fee minus the rounded final fee. Every CFP final amount is conditional. The reset column is the published reset charge, with no extra CFP reduction applied. The table does not establish that the coupon is valid on resets. Add-ons, platform charges, taxes and payment costs are outside these base-price comparisons.

At the maximum scenario, the $25K 2-Step price difference is $79.99. If the selected new order receives a smaller discount, that difference changes. A quoted maximum should never replace the applied percentage visible before payment.

Calculate the actual break-even discount

Let the standard new-account fee be P and the comparable reset quote be R. Ignoring unequal extras for the moment, a new order is cheaper when P × (1 − actual discount) is less than R.

For the $25K 2-Step numbers, the equality point is 1 − $179.99 ÷ $199.99, approximately 10.0005%. Cent rounding can make a displayed 10% calculation tie the published reset price. Read the actual invoice rather than deciding from a rounded headline.

Here is a separate sensitivity exercise for the same $199.99 regular base fee. The 5%, 10% and 20% rows are hypothetical rates used to show the calculation; they are not advertised CFP entitlements.

Hypothetical applied rateRounded new base feeCompared with $179.99 reset
5%$189.99$10.00 higher
10%$179.99Equal after rounding
20%$159.99$20.00 lower
50%, advertised maximum if applicable$100.00$79.99 lower

If the two configurations have different additional charges, compare new base fee plus new extras with reset fee plus reset extras. A lower headline base fee is insufficient when the selected platform or package has changed.

The refund ledger does not erase repeated attempts

The Refundable Fee policy says that after a reset, the refundable amount follows the most recent reset fee rather than the original registration fee. For 2-Step it is requested with the first Performance Reward; for current 1-Step and Lite accounts the relevant point is the third reward. Approval and successful funded performance are required.

Suppose, purely for budgeting, a trader paid $100 for an original purchase, then paid two $179.99 resets. Total base-fee spending is $459.98. If the latest $179.99 later qualifies for return, the remaining net base-fee outlay is $279.99, before other charges. It is not zero.

Keep each attempt on its own line with date, model, fee paid and refund status. Do not enter a potential fee return as cash received before it is approved and paid. A possible future refund also does not justify continuing a strategy that repeatedly breaches the account.

Check restrictions before repeating a payment

The reset policy currently excludes $100K and $200K cTrader and Match-Trader accounts, with a stated exception for U.S.-based Match-Trader traders. Account-specific availability needs checking in the dashboard. This article's $25K and $50K examples do not remove country, platform or strategy requirements.

Before any repeat purchase, identify why the prior attempt ended. Separate an execution mistake, a misunderstood rule and a strategy that does not fit the loss allowance. Buying the same configuration again without resolving that cause can repeat the same cost.

Our daily-loss reset guide concerns the broker's daily loss calculation, a different use of the word reset. The Stellar 2-Step account guide explains the broader program.

Apply CFP to a new-purchase quote

  1. Choose the CFD model, size, platform and options in the official purchase flow.
  2. Record the current regular base fee and extra charges.
  3. Enter CFP and inspect its actual applied percentage.
  4. Compare the complete new-order total with the eligible reset quote.
  5. Confirm the resulting account stage and terms before paying.
