GOAT Daily applies that window during evaluation too. AUDIT gives 50% off all GOAT Funded Futures accounts; EOD $50K calculates to $69 from the $138 regular fee.

Code: AUDIT
An order placed earlier can still execute inside the window
The dedicated official news policy lists three restricted actions: opening positions, closing positions and triggering pending orders. EOD, Flex and 1-Day-Pass evaluations have no news restriction; Daily Payouts evaluations do. The funded restriction applies across plans. An existing position opened before the window may be held through it.
The operational distinction is between order submission and execution. A resting order entered well before a release can still produce a prohibited fill during the restricted interval. Checking only the time you clicked the button leaves that gap in a trade review.
For an illustrative event at 08:30 in the calendar's displayed time zone, the two-minute window runs around 08:28–08:32. Confirm the actual event, affected instrument, platform clock and exact boundary treatment; avoid designing orders to hit a boundary to the second.
Decide whether to be flat before the restriction starts
A trader who does not want news exposure should plan the exit before the restricted period. Waiting until the release and then deciding to close can conflict with the no-closing rule. A trader who holds an earlier position still faces the account's loss limits, volatility and potential slippage.
This is not advice to remove protective orders or leave risk unmanaged. If the published holding permission seems inconsistent with how an attached stop or target might execute, obtain written clarification for the exact order type before using that setup around news. Being allowed to hold a position does not by itself answer every question about a subsequent order trigger.
A clean pre-event routine is to identify the next restricted event, choose a compliant exposure plan, inspect all working orders and verify the platform state before the window begins. Treat each account independently when several are open.
Read the specific news page when general wording differs
The general prohibited-strategies article contains broader wording suggesting management or closing of an existing position is permitted. The newer dedicated news page and the EOD plan rules explicitly prohibit closing or triggering orders in the buffer.
This guide follows that more specific restrictive wording. If the assigned agreement or dashboard differs, ask support to resolve the discrepancy in writing before trading the event. A vague statement that “news trading is allowed” is not enough to establish which action, phase and plan it describes.
The two-minute trade-duration test answers a different question
The holding-time guide separates news timing from microscalping. EOD, 1-Day-Pass and Instant Classic remove profits on trades closed within two minutes. Flex has cycle-level one-minute tests, while Daily has a separate longer-than-60-seconds profit test.
An example makes the separation clear: a trade held for ten minutes can still close inside a news window. A trade entirely outside the news window can still be too short for its plan's duration rules. Maintain an event-window check and a duration check rather than treating one as evidence of the other.
For Daily's other funded changes, see the Daily transition guide. For position capacity, see the contract-limit guide.
Current EOD purchase prices with AUDIT
The official EOD specifications distinguish the regular fee from the displayed sale. Apply the verified 50% rate once to the regular amount:
These are one-time base purchase calculations. The EOD page lists no activation fee. Resets, provider differences, paid upgrades, taxes and other separately billed costs are not assumed to receive the same discount. The $69 public discounted figure is not a new regular base to halve again.
After an unexpected execution
Preserve the event listing, order identifier, fill timestamp and account phase. Separate the observed execution from any assumption about how it will be classified. The dedicated policy says affected profits are deducted when a payout is requested; the complete agreement and review still govern the account.
Do not describe a displayed gain as fully eligible reward before reconciliation. Record any adjustment where it occurs so the payout calculation and account balance remain understandable.
To buy, choose the exact futures plan, size and provider, enter AUDIT, and check the 50% reduction against the complete order. The full futures coupon guide and GOAT Funded Futures overview give broader comparisons. The discount never changes the news window.
