Lucid Trading Profit Target, Drawdown and Daily Loss Explained

  • Profit target: Generally 5% on $25K and 6% on larger evaluations; Direct uses 6% first payout goals
  • Maximum loss: $1,000–$5,000 depending on plan and account size
  • Drawdown calculation: eod_trailing
  • Daily loss: Optional on Pro/Flex; plan-specific soft DLL on Direct; Daily uses its own risk rules
  • Minimum days: Plan-specific; Flex is practically 2 days due to 50% evaluation consistency
  • Consistency: Traders must use the evaluation or payout percentage attached to the exact account type; exceeding an objective normally extends qualification unless the agreement calls it a breach.

A trader should calculate the real risk allowance from the maximum-loss amount, not the advertised nominal account balance. End-of-day trailing drawdown moves from closed daily highs, intraday trailing can move with open equity, and static drawdown stays fixed. These models produce very different trade-sizing requirements.

Lucid Trading Payout Eligibility Checklist

Before requesting a payout, confirm all of the following:

  • The account is above its required buffer or safety-net balance.
  • The minimum trading or profitable-day count is complete.
  • The largest winning day is within the account's payout consistency percentage.
  • New profit since the previous payout meets the minimum.
  • The request is within the account-size minimum and maximum cap.
  • All positions and pending orders are closed.
  • KYC, account ownership and payout-provider checks are complete.
  • No prohibited strategy, cross-account hedge, account sharing or market-data exploitation occurred.

Detailed Lucid Trading Verdict

Lucid Trading is a futures-only prop firm offering evaluation, daily-payout and straight-to-sim-funded accounts with one-time pricing. Its biggest strengths are the 90% trader split, no activation fee, fast payout processing, and the choice between EOD and intraday drawdown models. The important catch is that LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect have different consistency, buffer, daily-loss and news rules.

Rules checked against Lucid Trading's official website and Help Center on August 20, 2026.

  • No simulated payout cap is advertised on the current Pro funded overview.

  • Evaluation uses 50% consistency and can practically be completed in two days.
  • EOD trailing maximum loss: $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 or $4,500.
  • No separate daily loss limit unless the optional DLL is selected at purchase.
  • Funded stage has no consistency percentage and no payout buffer.
  • Contract scaling applies in the funded stage and updates after the session.
  • Payout eligibility requires the plan's profitable-day and positive-net-profit objectives.
  • 90/10 profit split.

LucidDaily

  • Funded accounts use intraday trailing drawdown.
  • Maximum loss is $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 or $4,500 by size.
  • No funded consistency rule.
  • Payouts require profits above the fixed buffer plus positive net profit since the previous payout.
  • The buffer is initial maximum loss plus $100.
  • High-impact USD news is a hard funded restriction: traders must be flat from one minute before through one minute after the event.
  • 90/10 profit split.

LucidDirect

  • Straight-to-sim-funded account with no evaluation phase.
  • EOD trailing maximum loss: $1,000 on $25K, $2,000 on $50K, $3,500 on $100K and $5,000 on $150K.
  • The $25K plan currently lists no DLL; larger plans use a fixed or scaling soft DLL.
  • 20% consistency requirement for payouts.
  • First payout-cycle profit goals are 6%: $1,500, $3,000, $6,000 and $9,000.
  • Later cycle goals step down to $1,250, $2,500, $3,500 and $4,500.
  • Minimum payout request is $500.
  • Payout caps are account-size and cycle dependent.
  • 90/10 profit split.

LucidMaxx

LucidMaxx is not a public checkout product. It is an invite-only evaluation-to-live plan for traders selected through Lucid's performance criteria. It should not be compared as a normally purchasable account.

Drawdown and Breach Rules

LucidPro, LucidFlex and LucidDirect use an end-of-day trailing maximum loss. The trail rises from the highest closing balance and eventually locks at the program's defined level. LucidDaily instead uses an intraday trailing maximum loss and is more sensitive to open equity peaks.

Lucid DLLs are soft pauses unless the maximum loss is also breached. When the DLL is reached, trading is restricted until the next session. Reaching the MLL is a hard breach. The selected fixed or scaling DLL option is tied to the account configuration.

Payout Rules

PlanMain payout requirements
LucidProPublished profit objective, buffer and 40% consistency
LucidFlexProfitable-day objective, positive net profit, no funded consistency and no buffer
LucidDailyProfit above buffer and positive net profit since prior payout; daily requests
LucidDirectCycle profit goal, 20% consistency, $500 minimum and size-based caps

All current public simulated-funded programs use a 90/10 split. Requests can be submitted after the exact plan objectives are met; there is no general calendar request window. Once approved, Lucid says the amount is deducted within minutes. Plaid can arrive in minutes where supported, while other methods can take up to two business days.

A payout resets the cycle's consistency or new-profit calculation where applicable. Trading after submitting a request can invalidate eligibility if losses push the account below its required goal or buffer.

Trading Conditions

  • Futures only; permitted CME Group products depend on the selected feed.
  • Positions must be closed for the daily session break and cannot be held over the weekend.
  • News trading is allowed on Pro, Flex and Direct under their current plan rules.
  • LucidDaily funded accounts prohibit holding, opening or closing through the one-minute high-impact USD news window.
  • Automation and trade copying may be used only within Lucid's ownership and prohibited-strategy rules.
  • Cross-household account use, account sharing, latency arbitrage, HFT exploitation, coordinated hedging and third-party trading are prohibited.
  • Account inactivity and identity rules apply; traders should keep the account active and use one verified household profile.

Platforms, Markets and Costs

Lucid supports CQG routes including NinjaTrader, Tradovate and TradingView, plus Rithmic-connected tools such as MotiveWave, Quantower, Sierra Chart, Jigsaw, Bookmap, ATAS, R|Trader Pro and MultiCharts. Platform availability depends on the purchased data feed.

Public accounts use one-time pricing rather than monthly evaluation rebilling. Current public plans do not charge a separate activation fee after passing. Resets, add-ons and platform/data costs can still change the total purchase cost.

Account Limits, Scaling and Live Progression

A household may generally hold up to five funded accounts, creating up to $750K in simulated notional allocation at the largest size. LucidFlex uses contract scaling in funded; LucidPro provides the published maximum size without a funded scaling ladder.

Lucid's risk team reviews traders for live progression. The review pool can begin after the final plan payout, substantial lifetime payouts, exceptional performance or prior live status. A fifth payout is a maximum simulated payout milestone, not a guaranteed wait period or guaranteed live promotion. Current live accounts start at $0, use EOD drawdown, have no DLL and allow daily payouts.

Country Restrictions, Compliance and Refunds

Lucid accounts are simulated until a trader is selected for live. Traders must meet age, residency, KYC and payout-provider requirements. Restricted jurisdictions and household rules apply. Purchases, resets and add-ons should be treated as non-refundable after use unless the current refund policy explicitly says otherwise.

Who Lucid Trading Is Best For

LucidPro suits traders wanting full contract access and no simulated payout cap. LucidFlex is better for traders who prefer no funded consistency or buffer. LucidDaily is aimed at traders prioritizing daily withdrawals and who can handle intraday drawdown plus a news blackout. LucidDirect is for traders willing to accept stricter consistency and payout goals to skip evaluation.

Final Review

Lucid Trading provides a strong mix of payout speed, account choice and 90% profit sharing. The main decision is not simply Pro versus Flex: traders must compare drawdown timing, DLL configuration, buffer, consistency, news rules and payout caps for the exact plan. Lucid is trader-friendly when the selected model matches the strategy, but the programs should never be treated as interchangeable.
