Claim Offer See offer detailsBreakout Prop rules combine a daily equity limit with a static overall drawdown floor. Both apply simultaneously. Understanding the difference matters more than simply memorizing a percentage: an account can breach the daily limit while remaining well above its overall floor.

How the daily loss calculation works
The calculation uses the account balance at the reset, excluding unrealized positions. The resulting floor is then enforced against equity, which includes those positions.
Daily equity floor = reset balance × 0.97.
Worked daily-limit examples
These are calculated examples, not additional account rules. At a $26,000 reset balance, equity of $25,300 leaves only $80 above the daily floor. A trader looking only at closed-trade results could miss that narrow margin.
The reset occurs at 00:30 UTC, which is 06:00 IST. If you hold positions across that time, review the recalculated floor before adding exposure.
Static drawdown versus daily drawdown
Static drawdown is anchored to initial account size. It does not follow every new profit high. The daily floor is recalculated separately.
For a hypothetical $25,000 account with a 6% static limit, the overall floor is $23,500. If the next daily floor is $25,220, the account must stay above $25,220 because that is the nearer boundary. The lower overall floor does not override the daily rule.
A useful monitoring formula is:
Available equity headroom = current equity − higher of the two displayed floors.
The calculations illustrate mechanics, not a recommended risk budget. Fees and adverse fills can consume remaining headroom. Touching a floor is a breach; the floor is not a stop-loss target. See Breakout's equity-limit explanation.
Copy trading and prohibited strategies
Permission to trade news does not imply permission to use every strategy. The prohibited-practices FAQ restricts platform exploitation, insider information, third-party trade ideas or signals, approaches marketed to pass evaluations, account arbitrage and account sharing. It also restricts switching approaches between evaluation and funded trading.
For a trader using a signal service or shared trading setup, these provisions deserve attention before purchasing. Do not assume a commercially available strategy or copier is permitted simply because it can connect technically.
Is hedging allowed?
The hedging FAQ permits same-account hedging but prohibits offsetting exposure across accounts or coordinated traders. The fuller program rules add conditions: an existing position must have substantial unrealized profit or loss before the opposing position is added, with Breakout determining whether the condition is satisfied.
That means “hedging allowed” is an incomplete summary. Seek clarification for your exact setup if it depends on simultaneous opposing trades.
A practical pre-session checklist
- Read both live equity floors.
- Include all open positions when measuring exposure.
- Account for fees and the next reset.
- Check whether correlated positions express the same underlying trade.
- Keep strategy execution consistent with the account agreement.
Multiple positions can create one concentrated market bet. For example, three crypto longs may all lose during the same broad market move. Counting each position separately does not eliminate their combined effect on account equity.

These are illustrative calculations, not quoted prices for specific Breakout account sizes. Confirm the actual discount and final charge at checkout.
For example, a $100 fee becomes $95, saving $5. This is an arithmetic example, not a quoted account price. The code reduces the purchase cost; it does not increase the account's loss allowance or change trading rules. Check the final amount and any add-on separately at Breakout checkout.
