Funded Futures Family allows trading around major releases such as CPI, FOMC and NFP. A permitted news trade can still lose money, breach the account's loss limit or leave a payout objective unfinished. Before an event, check the account's actual loss floor, order behavior and funded-stage requirements rather than treating news permission as a separate risk allowance.

Code: COMPARE

Use verified code COMPARE for 80% off Velocity, 40% off Premier for the first five uses and 30% afterward, and 30% off Prime. The coupon changes an eligible purchase fee; it does not change execution or trading rules.

Reviewed 9 October 2026. Official news and plan pages were checked for this guide. Examples below are hypothetical risk calculations, not forecasts or a recommendation to trade a release.

What the official news permission covers

FFF's official news-trading answer expressly permits major scheduled announcements. Its broader trading-rules explanation describes no mandatory news blackout or forced flattening around those releases. It also warns that fast markets can bring slippage and gaps.

That answers the permission question. Three separate questions remain: can the account tolerate the intended exposure, can the platform execute the exit as expected, and will the resulting profit meet the purchased plan's objectives? Write those answers down before the release. A positive answer to one does not establish the others.

Build a pre-event account snapshot

Use a simple five-field record for each account:

  • The plan, stage and purchased drawdown configuration
  • Current balance and open profit or loss
  • The active loss threshold shown in the dashboard
  • Open positions and every working entry, stop and target
  • The event time, product session schedule and your own decision to participate or remain flat

This is an operational checklist, not an additional FFF rule. Its purpose is to stop assumptions from one account carrying into another. An evaluation and a simulated-funded account can have different available contracts and payout conditions even when the account labels show the same dollar size.

For example, suppose a dashboard shows equity of $51,200 and an active failure threshold of $50,300. The displayed distance is $900. The headline $50,000 account size does not turn that into a $50,000 loss budget. Any personal reserve for commissions, adverse fills and platform delays must fit inside that $900, rather than being added to it.

Test a planned loss against an adverse fill

Consider a purely illustrative position whose planned stop loss is $240 before costs. Assume an additional $90 of adverse execution and $12 of total charges. The stressed loss becomes $342. Against the example's $900 threshold distance, that leaves $558 if no other exposure, trailing-floor movement or account adjustment intervenes.

Now imagine the same position is entered three times after consecutive losses. Three losses of $342 would total $1,026, exceeding the original $900 distance. A stop on each individual trade therefore does not, by itself, make a sequence compatible with the account. The calculation should include the planned number of attempts and simultaneous positions.

The $90 assumption is only a scenario. Slippage is not capped at a convenient budget, and a gap can produce a substantially different result. FFF's risk disclosures warn that desired execution prices may be unavailable in fast or thin markets. Treat a stress test as a way to expose fragility, never as a guarantee of the maximum loss.

Include pending orders in the review

A flat position display can coexist with an unfilled entry order. If that order triggers during the release, exposure appears when the trader thought the account was inactive. Likewise, a stale order on a second account may be absent from the chart currently being watched.

A practical review checks each account's order panel, confirms whether a cancellation was acknowledged and distinguishes an instruction to exit from a completed fill. Preserve the order timestamps when an unexpected outcome occurs. Those records are more useful for a support inquiry than a screenshot showing only the final profit or loss.

Keep news permission separate from payout readiness

A large winning announcement can dominate a payout cycle. If an account agreement uses a 40% best-day limit, a hypothetical $1,200 best day requires at least $3,000 of qualifying total cycle profit for that one test: $1,200 divided by 0.40. At $2,400 total, the same day is 50%. This arithmetic does not say the account failed, nor does it prove that a payout is available.

Check the exact account's current policy for the treatment of consistency, qualifying days, profit goals and retained balances. FFF's own plan pages distinguish standard and optional payout configurations. Avoid applying one program's event result to another program's payout rules. For a worked, plan-specific balance example, see the Prime payout-buffer guide.

Velocity purchase prices with COMPARE

The official Velocity plan page lists these base monthly fees. The active COMPARE offer supplies the 80% Velocity rate. These calculations cover an eligible initial base payment in USD.

Exact planAccount sizeRegular initial monthly feeCodeDiscountSavingCalculated final base fee
Velocity base, no Daily Payout Add-On$25,000$79.00COMPARE80%$63.20$15.80
Velocity base, no Daily Payout Add-On$50,000$125.00COMPARE80%$100.00$25.00
Velocity base, no Daily Payout Add-On$100,000$225.00COMPARE80%$180.00$45.00

The final column is regular fee multiplied by 0.20. It does not establish renewal pricing, reset coverage or a discount on an optional add-on. Confirm the purchased drawdown option and final order summary. Public offers using a different code are separate promotions and are not stacked into this table.

A useful post-event review

Record intended and actual entry and exit prices, total charges, the lowest equity reached and any change in the account's loss threshold. Then update the payout ledger using closed results and the appropriate cycle dates. A profitable event can still reveal poor order control; an ordinary loss can still be fully consistent with the account rules.

Before purchasing, use the FFF firm overview to locate the selected program and official purchase route. The practical decision is whether the program fits an already tested execution process. A lower evaluation fee is not evidence that a news strategy will be profitable or that a payout will be approved.

How to use COMPARE
